One question keeps circling X: who TF is gpebbles? Inside the 6529 network he needs no introduction. He is an active part of it, level 100 on his profile, and a regular at its auctions and votes. Outside it, the name turns up at the close of big auctions and in artists’ “owned by” posts, with no account to tag. For collectors, that is a bidder you cannot read. For artists, a patron you cannot thank in public. The onchain record answers most of what matters, so we went and read it.
It is not a new question. Artists ask it most, often right after he has collected them:
@Ars0nic asked it straight out. So did @SariraMerikhi. @AdamCarity wondered if people meant @PGebbles, which is a different account. @eitzisart said he did not know either. All he knew was that gpebbles is kind and honest. Most of those were replies to this post:
@Trippy_Roots remembered a time when gpebbles would turn up, shake up everyone's week and never say a word about it. Elsewhere he called him the silent hero of one story. @graffitiongrave just wanted to know where he was.
The artists are less puzzled. In the last week Kubti The Creator has posted three works with the same line, owned by gpebbles: Where We Bled, A Song Called Life, then I played the last note and Bigger than all this. Esteban Amaro posted The Secret of The Sand as in the collection of gpebbles. awhurst thanked him for picking up an edition of in over my head, and @JACOBJMV was pleased to see him vote on a new Meme submission. On 29 October @pravijn said he was surprised to see gpebbles bail on an auction. That tells you what the room has come to expect.
The profile
Start with 6529. His network profile, enabled in April 2024, lists gpebbles as a pseudonym at level 100. The bio reads, in full: “cryptoart ftw”. Three wallets are consolidated under the one identity: gpebbles6529ftw.eth, which is the primary, plus gpebblesequilibrium.eth and gpebbles.eth.

Together they carry 36,734,964 TDH, the network's measure of time spent holding its collections. Almost all of it sits in two wallets: about 23.46 million in gpebbles6529ftw.eth and 10.87 million in gpebblesequilibrium.eth. The profile also shows a Rep score of 13,155,216 from 177 raters, a Network Identity Check of 564,309 marked highly accurate, and 781 followers. Among the things they rate him for: Respect, 6529 True Believer, Meme Maxi, top pebbs and The Pebbles Must Flow. In other words, 177 people inside the network have put their own names behind a collector nobody can find on X.
Four wallets, two eras
Etherscan dates the first outgoing transaction from gpebbles6529ftw.eth to roughly three years and 273 days ago, which puts it at the end of January 2023. gpebbles.eth follows about seven weeks later, in March 2023. Both were first funded by 0xa365…b0C2, his fourth wallet.
gpebbles.eth is the working wallet. It shows 5,612 transactions, and when we checked, the latest was six hours old. gpebbles6529ftw.eth is quieter at 168 transactions, and several of this year's 1/1 wins now sit there. Etherscan lists tokens from the Tara in Abstract, Tim B, Intrepid and Alex Kittoe contracts that turn up in the sales below.
The third wallet is new. gpebblesequilibrium.eth is a Safe smart account created about 261 days ago, around 10 February 2026, with only ten transactions to its name. It holds two CryptoPunks, a Checks, a token from Alpha Centauri Kid's Original Sin, a Rare Pepe, XCOPY's FRESH HELL, 63 NextGen tokens and 60 Pendulums by Ben Strauss. It also holds 6529 Gradients #2, #33 and #55. One of the two Punks is #4566.

The primary wallet adds three more Punks, an Autoglyph, XCOPY’s The Doomed, three 6529 Gradients, Masks of Luci, a Grifter and another 11 Pendulums. When Pendulums sold out in January, 24 Hours of Art singled out sqda as the collector of 25. The gpebbles wallets show 71 between them.

The fourth wallet has no ENS name and sits outside the 6529 profile. On 28 January 2023 it sent gpebbles6529ftw.eth 195 ETH. OpenSea shows some of the biggest names in the collection there: three CryptoPunks, four Bored Apes, two Chromie Squiggles, a Checks Original, four Terraforms, REMNANT #212, and XCOPY’s Taxmen and The State of Us (blue).

The wallet also holds memory.23 from m0dest’s < this is what it remembers >, 33 images from a model trained on old family photographs.
The run the reports caught
The clearest public trace is 24 Hours of Art, Roger Dickerman's daily sales report. Across three reports in a row, 30 January to 1 February 2026, it names gpebbles as the buyer 15 times, for about 7.3 ETH.
The 30 January report has him sweeping The Memes by 6529 on secondary: The Institutions Are Coming by 6529er for 0.34 WETH, Brain by 6529er and 6529 for 0.269 WETH, and Pepe X by Arsonic and The Meme Detector by OR BOOM at 0.23 WETH each. The same report has him taking sariraa.eth's 1/1 Let there be light for 0.299 ETH. In the primary column that day, Intrepid's Meme card A Node from the Outer Rim had minted 228 editions.
The next day's report adds two 1/1s by Tara in Abstract, Layered and Twisted, at 0.25 ETH each. It also lists Jacob VanderVelde's Water World for 0.25 ETH and Arya Wirawan's Meme card Head Full of Meme for 0.4 WETH.
Then came 1 February. Three works by Tim B: Prelude for 0.69 ETH, and Battleships and Shallows for 0.5 ETH each. Intrepid's The Last Stand had shown a 0.69 ETH bid in the previous day's live auctions. It closed at that number with gpebbles as the buyer. The biggest single purchase of the run was a Mountlet from Pebbles by Zeblocks at 2.2 WETH. The day finished with another 6529er and 6529 card, I CAN HAS ETHEREUM?, at 0.2 WETH. The same report logged 190 editions minted of baiwei's Meme card Memento Survive.
The pattern holds into March. The 19 March report has Alex Kittoe's The Guardian going to gpebbles for 0.71 ETH, along with RAM Dezin's Meme card Place All Your Bets for 0.26 WETH. Three days later, the 22 March report lists Rocketgirl's DUM MUNDUS ARDET at 0.22 ETH to gpebbles.
What the collection says
Read together, the record shows a collector with two habits. The first is depth in The Memes, bought card by card on secondary at 0.2 to 0.4 ETH, 6529er cards included. That is the level that keeps artists' secondary markets moving. The second is 1/1s at 0.2 to 0.7 ETH from artists working in and around the network, bought in clusters: two Tara in Abstract works in one day, three Tim B works in another.
Then there is photography. @GarryB1rd joked that the mystery collector could not be him, because gpebbles likes photography. The wallets agree. gpebbles.eth holds Cody Mayer's 1/1 Photography and Storm Photography contracts, framesbyvik editions, DB Photography Editions, Drop Bear Visuals Editions and Into the Arctic. Flatirons Photography lists several Brynn Alise Schmidt works as collected by gpebbles.
The same wallet holds editions from people asking about him: an awhurst collection, Arsonic Editions, Graffiti On Grave. The blue chips sit in the other three wallets. The collection runs from Punks and an Autoglyph down to a stranger's photography edition, with the 6529 network as the thread.
A meme comp, run quietly
The nearest gpebbles has come to a public announcement was in July 2026. MadaCollects posted that gpebbles, @PGebbles and MadaCollects had launched a meme competition giving away 13 meme cards. It was not affiliated with the 6529 team but was run on 6529 network tools. Rakesh Pulapa shared it with his followers. So @PGebbles is a real and separate collaborator, which settles one of the guesses.
Not everyone has caught up:
Even then, gpebbles did not post. The bids, the votes and the competition all went out under other people's names or straight to the chain.
Closer to home
gpebbles bids at CypherPunks too. Last week he won CypherPunk #7314, auction #85, for 0.093 ETH. tenfin9ers.eth pushed him for twenty minutes, five bids between them, before his last one held.
Our own account asked the same question a few hours later.
Five days later he went after CypherPunk #9123, an alien, at auction #90. He came in at 0.33 ETH and traded bids with basedculture.eth up to 1.33 ETH. Then a wallet with no ENS name joined at 1.6 ETH, and for 46 minutes the two went back and forth: 1.69, 1.81, 2.2, 2.69, 3, 3.3 and 3.69 ETH from gpebbles, each one answered within minutes. At 3.8 ETH he let it go. #9123 sold for 3.8 ETH, the highest price in the 90 CypherPunks auctions so far.

Still asking
So, who TF is gpebbles? The man, the myth, the legend. The chain shows what he bought, when, and for how much. It does not show who he is, and he seems happy to keep it that way. Maybe that is the point.
Some of his biggest buys come with a receipt. In March he took a.c.k.’s The Great Color Study full set, with pale blue death and la nuit étoilée, for 9.69 ETH:
The next day a.c.k. thought he had cracked it:
servant of the Muse #61 is a.c.k.’s collector badge, and it sits in the fourth wallet. It tells you which collector he is, not who.
What the record does show is why collectors like him matter. Onchain art is still a young market. Most of its artists are early in their careers, and most of their sales come from a small number of people who keep turning up. A 1/1 bought from an artist the wider market has not found yet, a Meme card picked up on secondary, an auction pushed into its final hour: each one keeps someone making work, and none of it needs a following to count.
Or, as one collector put it:
He will be back at an auction soon, and the question will come round again. If you know the answer, it is probably safer with you.
We don’t know who gpebbles is. But one thing we know for sure is he’s a CypherPunk.
